On March 16, 2025, the MMA Women’s Health Committee and MMA Wilayah Persekutuan KL organised a beginner-level ultrasound workshop at the AC Marriott Hotel, attracting 27 enthusiastic participants from as far north as Taiping and as far south as Johor. The comprehensive event, which ran from 9 AM to 5 PM, was expertly led by Dr. TP Baskaran, a renowned Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist.
A Day of Learning and Hands-On Experience
The workshop seamlessly blended theoretical sessions in the morning with practical, hands-on training in the afternoon. Dr. Sivabala, another esteemed O&G specialist, joined Dr. Baskaran to guide participants through the practical sessions. Eight generous pregnant volunteers, including one with a twin pregnancy, contributed to the workshop’s success by allowing participants to gain invaluable real-world experience.
A Resounding Success
The workshop concluded on a high note, with participants expressing their gratitude for the enhanced understanding they gained in obstetric ultrasound scanning. The overwhelming feedback was positive, with all attendees eagerly anticipating future workshops of this nature. In response, the organisers have committed to hosting more such events in the future, further solidifying their dedication to advancing healthcare knowledge and skills.
